Now!!

3/28/2022

it's Vicki's birthday!!! The word for the week is now. live in IT.  I can actually feel it. The now. this moment. i am present. clay does that for me. I'm planting seeds, celebrating many birthdays, assembling garden stuff. altering a prom dress. debating about the Raccoon. if I don't feed the birds, she goes away. We learned new tools for helping Reijo. The essential oil protocol is helping so much with his sleep patterns. focus, memories. and more.
It was productive week for nature too. The grass turned green the daffodils bloomed trees are budding out. I  need to prune the pampas grass. In the studio. I did the first bisque last week. made stuff with granddaughter Rita. We also got out to a few galleries to inspire and admire. Eleven years old now and enjoys galleries. she recognized things in the gallery that we practiced at home. New plans. soap dishes for Vicki. label Rocks for Raini's garden. it gave me a good chance to study Mishima. The procrastinating of glazing will end. hoping to update the product pages soon. in the meantime, I'm checking in and thinking about so many of you. Blessings. and NOW! in gratitude. The laundry.

2015 adding haiku

2/10/2015

OK it is 2015 and with January comes the joy of reflection and setting new goals for the year. I love this time. The holidayra past, in the dark months, I settle in for a long winters nap; sleeping, dreaming, reflecting, creating and planning. I want to be more present here on the blog, so I have concocted this idea. Commit to a simple little haiku a week. it forces the first step. get online! then it forces a moment of creative expression and reflection.
that's all. Here we go.
The rules.
must be art, or ceramic related.
the last line of this week becomes the first line of next week.
    3 lines of 5-7-5 format
that's all
the rest is magic.

seeking perfection
imperfection, it is said
that's where beauty lies.

    i'm back

"This is a day that the Lord has made. Rejoice and be glad."
Tthat just about sums up where I have come to in the past five years since my last post. it has been quite a journey and it continues. I again find my joy and peace in the creative process and the studio.. Now, however, it is mainly that and so much less about the marketplace, but more about the quality of my time, my moment my connection to the sacred world we have been given.
I invite you to join with me here as I document the days with gratitude.

I love playing in the mud and the trees. Snow covered land and stars sparkling above. I enjoy the plethora of diamonds that sparkle on the water and again on  my snow filled hillsides. I can't decide if it's best to narrow my focus or mix it up. I have always struggled with duality. I enjoy skiing or a walk in the woods. I have an Aussie puppy and an aging Jack Russell. I love my Finnish Husband, Reijo, solitude, and God.
